Day off = Small fire, day of crafting and PB2

Whew! I am finally feeling better. I guess it could be that I was lazy the whole day and did not get out of my PJ's until 530p. I cleaned, napped, crafted and had a small fire.

See the burn hole at the top of the lamp shade? Thank God I was home.

For some reason the light bulb caught on fire.

The other part of my day I spent crafting and napping. Here is a little something I am working on for my bestie, Angie.

It is a album I made to tell the story of our friendship. I have laughed and cried as I created this. We have been through so much together.

This arrived yesterday! I love the stuff. It is dehydrated peanuts which has most of the fat and calories removed. It is really YUMMY! It tastes just like peanut butter. Here are the calorie stats.

The serving size  is 2 TBS mixed with water. I believe it is one WW point.

Doc in the Box at Pantops

The title sounds a little like a Dr. Suess book doesn't it? Unfortunately it is true. I had to break down and go see a doc today. One of those urgent care establishments. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised the see they had scrpture scrolling on the TV in the waiting room in between medication ads. My doctor was very nice and I found out she is running the 10K in Richmond too. It is 530p and I am going to bed, I am sooooo tired from running a fever and coughing. The pic of the day is the medication I was prescribed.

An Honor

Today I was  honored from two different sources with totally different words but with the same meaning.

Isn't that precious? That made my day, my week and month.

I also received another honor today from my principal and peers at Unionville. It is called the a b c d award. (Above and beyond the call of duty). I was presented this tonight at the school board meeting. I am truly humbled and greatful for my job and the staff I work with.

AJ was not able to attend so Mrs. Wilkins was my date for the night. She is the brains of the whole operation at Unionville. If she doesn't know it, it doesn't exist.

Isn't she pretty? Always so put together. She opened her arms to me from the very first day. A woman of God and Grace.

I am so blessed that God has placed these beautiful people in my life. You guys know how difficult it was for me to leave the only place I had ever known.

Weekend recap


 What an awesome weekend! Saturday, while cleaning house, I could not resist doing the broom balancing act. And no, I did not get on it and ride it later. I must say that there is something eerie about a broom balancing on it's bristles.

Saturday night I met my girl friends at the Wood Creek Grill in C'ville. It was wonderful seeing them. I have not seen them since New Years Eve. The Wood Creek Grill was completely packed, luckily it was not too cold as we had to stand outside.

 We were  talking and catching up when all of a sudden we heard  "Harrummph!" What the heck was that Nanner?

Look how innocent she looks. "My throat is itching." Well, that sound stopped conversation for blocks! No, just kidding, but is sure did get our attention.

Here is a pic of me and bestie. It sure was nice seeing my "mountain girls" as people refer to them here. I love and miss them bunches. I don't think there is a group of friends who have lived life to the fullest as we have. We and been there done that for sure.

 As always, we ended our night at Starbucks.

I always have Michele order mine. Tall, no whipp, extra hot whatever, whatever. Michele is our Starbucks girl.

Ok AJ here is proof I ran three miles today!

Cheesecake and Wrinkle Cream

In a terrible storm AJ and I made our way to the Cheesecake Factory for date night. Again, bad choices were made and our meal ended with Double Chocolate Cheesecake with Hershey Kisses crust. Yes, training tomorrow will probably be a flop. Last week AJ ate a bacon donut and our run did not go well at all. I think the word I used was "Sucked."

I did order from the skinnylicious menu, white chicken chilli.

Onward to Trader Joe's and then Walmart.

Anyone else out there in blog world who tries to do everything Dr. Oz recommends? Well, today I bought the wrinkle cream plastic surgeons had recommended on his show as the best bang for the money. I think Dr. Oz told them they could only spend  $20.00 total and this is what they recommended for actual results.

I think it was $19.00. I will give you my review later. I have a few more things to share tomorrow as I bought hair dye. Yep, I will fight the aging process until they throw dirt on my coffin..

Jeepers Creepers Where'd You Get Those Peepers?

I was raised in an area of Buena Vista,Va called frog bottom. Frog bottom was the part of town in which streams drained down from the Blue Ridge Mountains and created swampy areas and thousands of peepers.

As houses were built the peepers disappeared as their habitat was invaded and they were silenced. I have missed them! Guess what I heard today as AJ and I finished our run!!!!! Peepers! I was so excited. Their sound brings back to me my home in BV when I was a child and mom and dad was still alive.

 We had a little flooding today across the dam and I guess it brought out the peepers as well as the fisherman.
