Whew! What a week............We are moving again.

OK, let's start at the beginning. AJ and I have been jogging a lot. I think 50 or so miles in the past month. I cannot believe a body as old as mine is capable of such feats.

On Tuesday I had Bible study with the girls. This is the view across the street from UES and where my ride picks me up. It is hard to believe we are only a few minutes from the Nation's Capital.
And here is my ride.....Mrs. Debbie.
What a great bunch of girls who love the Lord.

And always an endless supply of M & M's.
Wednesday we had a nurses meeting in C'ville with school nurses across the area. I ended up having the sex talk of my life. I am not sure why they provided samples of condoms, but it gave us a good laugh after a boring morning of speakers.
Thursday night we said goodbye to one our fellow nurses at the OC and we ate at a local Mexican Restaurant. We had the worse dining the experience. They sat us in a covered porch type area which was nice, then they raised the sides of the blinds and in poured sewage smell. They tried to camouflage it by having one the the waiters walk around the perimeter and spray pinesol. I had a terrible headache before I ate my meal.

Cindy is the one on the right. I could not get a good pic of her. She kept hiding.
She is really going to be missed.

After I got home from Cindy's going away party I found out I would also be moving. AJ landed this awesome Chief of Police job in Middleburg VA. A quaint little town 30 min west of DC.

For all of my Rockbridge County friends, Middleburg is a lot like Lexington but on steroids.
I have blogged about it many times. I never thought I would ever live so close to a big city. Someone told me I would be called a city kitty now. Hmmmm....sounds pretty good because I LOVE hello kitty.

I had to work Saturday at UES for K registration. I wore my "hello kitty" scrubs in  honor of my new status.
I know, I am such a fashionesta.
Here we are gathering before the little ones arrive.

Saturday night AJ and I had date night. We went to the movies to see HUNGER GAMES and then dinner at Joe's Crab Shack.

Have a great second half of the weekend y'all!

Oh Turkey Manure!

The morning started off very scary. I happened apon a terrible accident on the farm road I travel to get to Orange County. A flatbed truck and a Rav 4 had collided and the flatbed truch had overturned dumping its entire contents on the road. I stayed until EMS arrived. I think the driver of the flatbed had a concussion, he kept repeating the same thing coupled with erratic behavior. He would not listen and sit down for me so I  kept my distance. The Rav 4 crashed into a tree with airbag deployment. He seemed OK except for cuts and scrapes.

On a stinky note our run today was NASTY!!!  Due to this!

Yep! Every farmer in the area is spreading turkey manure. The smell is terrible!  AJ did run a 10 min mile today. I am so proud of him. I was trying not to breath through my mouth and as you can guess it did  not work out well.

So now I am relaxing with the windows closed, comfy chair and girls best friend. Night y'all.

Working man

Why do weekends to go by so fast? Friday, when I got home from work, AJ had already walked the dogs and was waiting to leave for Short Pump. We had dinner at our usual place, The Cheesecake Factory. I had the almond crusted catfish and low carb cheesecake. I will not reveal what AJ had but his cheesecake had 1200 calories in it. He did however eat from the skinnylicious menu for his main course.
This is The Cheesecake Factory's low carb cheesecake.

Then we went by Dick's Sporting Goods where AJ picked up a new pair of running shoes.
A brand new pair of black Ascis!

SATURDAY MORNING AT 1000AM we completed our first 10K!!! Yeah! I felt pretty strong during most of the run. The hills continue to kill me. I understand that Monument Avenue in Richmond is flat as a pancake. Hallelujah!

As far as the rest of our Saturday I watched AJ clean around in the yard. I had spring fever so bad I had him get out our outdoor cushions and umbrella.

Millie watched safely behind the door. She did not like the loud leaf blower.

This is the extent of my outdoor work.

On Sunday AJ and  I went to Unionville Elementary to prepare six areas that I am in charge of to cultivate a garden. I told them I had a black thumb but they have the utmost confidence in my skills. Say a little prayer please.

Green Acres is the place to be, farm living is the life for me.

Faith That I Will Make It

Today I wondered if I will be able to run the 10k on March 31st in Richmond. The four mile run today was very difficult for me as I am not completely over the virus I had last week, but I was able to push through....cough.....breath....cough, cough. Well, you get the picture. I found this statement on Faith the other day and I am holding onto it.
Make sure to read the light print. Pretty powerful huh? I have some friends who are going through some stuff that need to grasp this too.

Today my Birchbox came! Yeah! I love surprises.
I really like the Supergoop sunscreen swipe. I am planning on taking that to Richmond for the run.
Check out the green nail polish. Ick!! It looks even worse on.
Of course, nothing looks good on my "nurse" fingernails. Can you tell I do not spend money on manicures? I believe I will give this polish to one of my 2nd grade students.

Plans for tonight include.
We are learning to sketch. Radishes. Yep, not a typo. Radishes.
So, here is my bowl of radishes. It looks like some type of fruit, but radishes?

Then working on my bible study.
This study has really been awesome though at times difficult as it has caused me to look at things deep in my heart that are still troubling me and I refuse to let go and let GOD. For some reason, I want to hold onto them like one would trophies. I keep them on my mantel and dust the off from time to time. Can anyone relate?

Look at my worn out bible. Does anyone else have a well marked Bible?
One of my favorite scriptures. "He will command his angels concerning you."

I leave you with a picture of my blind min-pin, Dobey. Bless her heart, she is running into things now.

Fisherman and the Art of Wild Abandoment

I have spring fever y'all!   I spied a fisherman fishing our cove. Yep, he made the coveted pic of the day. Ha! Ha!
I guess he wondered why that crazy girl in pink flannel PJ's was taking his picture.

Now, for something I am really excited about. I start my online mixed media art class today! I looked over the agenda and today we will practice sketching. The class is called The Art of Wild abadonment.
I am heading to class. Have a blessed evening and do something you love.

My Heart is Full

WOW! The weekend went by quickly. I spent Saturday with my buds shopping, eating and shopping. Did I mention eating? Our favorite place, Carrabba's Italian Restaurant.
I had the hazelnut crusted tilapia and steamed spinach. Angie had the pasta weezie.
Michele wanted me to make sure I told you guys that she had the sinless no sugar ice cream at Cold Stone. Pretty good for those who are watching thier carbs. She had fresh strawberries added.
Michele, Kathy and I are planning to run the 5k in BV on Labor Day. In order to train Michele and I each bought a pair of "Green Lightening" Asics.
I ran a smooth 3 miles in them today with no problem at all. Pretty snazzie huh?

Today, my church in BV honored Tim, Kathy and Kevin Morrison.
and here they are in person
Here is a great pic of their son Kevin.
There was laughter and tears today as we honored them. I personally feel they have had more of an  impact on BV and the surrounding area with God's love and acceptance than anyone in the history of the area. It is an honor to call them my friends.
For laughs they ran a video of Tim when he hosted the Miss. Maryland pageant.
Tim is also an accomplished dancer, only second to John Travolta. I love his 1980's white suit.

No, seriously.  Thank you for being a friend and pastor to AJ and I. You held us up during the most difficult time in our lives and laughed with us during the best times. We cannot find the words to express our feelings toward you guys except to say we love you and we are so glad to be a part of your life.

Look who was tired of me snapping pics.
Sorry bud.
